I’m Usha, recipe creator and the founder of HP Recipes.
Baking and cooking are my absolute favourites. I went through a weight loss journey a few years ago and got a chance to educate myself about macros and their importance to make a balanced meal.
I learned that protein is the most important macro for a healthy diet. It is essential to eat enough protein if you want to lose weight, maintain a healthy weight, or gain muscles. Eating high protein meals is how I have been successful to maintain my weight that I’m comfortable with for over 10 years now.
I started HP Recipes to help others prepare healthy protein rich meals. It’s also a ‘thank you’ to the community who taught me the different aspects of fitness and the nutrition in the first place.

Qualities of My Recipes
- Easy to make, very tasty, and rich in protein.
- Low in unhealthy saturated fat.
- Favorable on healthy fats such as avocado, olive oil etc.
- Relatively low in calories.
- Oven baked or pan fried instead of deep fried.

What My Recipes are Not About
I do not re-create any ‘viral’ recipe that aren’t logically ‘healthy’ or ‘high protein’ just for sake of attracting the visitors.
I have seen a lot of recipes on social media that are claimed to be high protein, but in fact they are actually high fat or high carb with very little protein.
My Recipe Creating Process
All my recipes are tried and tested in my own home kitchen. I usually do that a multiple times until I make it perfect.
A lot of the recipes I create, I learned them growing up in Nepal and working in a cafe in Sydney, Australia.
I also do a lot of research to create a new recipe content and customise the ingredients / quantity to make it healthy and high in protein.

A Bit About Myself
Born and raised in Nepal, struggled and worked in Australia, I was lucky to experience a vast variety of foods from two beautiful multicultural countries.
I started my career working in a cafe in Sydney and then moved to a customer service role in a public company. HP Recipes is where I spend most of my time now but it’s never enough.
I live in Sydney, Australia with my happy little family of three. We love going hiking and long drive on our free times.
Oh yea, we also have a kitty named Gingy. He loves helping me in the kitchen, especially when I’m cooking chicken. Proof-

My Favourite Recipes
Although I absolutely like all the recipes I have published, there are some which I simply cannot live without. Here are some recipes I regularly make for my family-
- Juicy Garlic Chicken – when I don’t feel like eating a big meal.
- Peanut Butter Oatmeal Breakfast Bars – I make these and store for easy snacking.
- Chicken Drumstick Biryani – Absolute must when I have a few friends over.
- Lamb Choila – When I crave for a spicy Nepalese taste.
- Banana Oat Cookies – When I have a few overripe banana.
- Tofu Cutlets – For any vegetarian friends.
- Chilli Paneer – They are just so good.
